Looking Forward ...Giving Back

Our Story
The W Girls Inc. (“WGIRLS”) was founded by a small group of professional women in New York City that came together
to donate their time, energy, and talents to help underprivileged women and children, regardless of race or religion.
The WGIRLS has grown to approximately 60 active volunteers. The WGIRLS distributes grants to other non-profit
organizations exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (“501(c)(3) Organizations”) whose goals align
with the mission, values, and commitment of the WGIRLS. Active members of the WGIRLS also participate in joint
programs with other 501(c)(3) Organizations.
Our Mission
The WGIRLS aims to provide underprivileged women and children with the support and resources necessary to achieve
health, happiness, and the ability to lead productive and successful adult lives.
Our Vision
The WGIRLS believes that all children, regardless of race, religion or financial situation, deserve the same opportunities,
including quality education, strong, positive parental influence, and a safe and loving home. The WGIRLS also believes that
to create these opportunities parents, especially single mothers, must have access to certain essential tools so that they may
attain self sufficiency, and set a positive example for their children. In particular, the WGIRLS provides grants for and
volunteers with other 501(c)(3) Organizations to meet the following goals:
- Provide quality education and career opportunities to disadvantaged women and children throughout New York City
and the surrounding areas.
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the children of disadvantaged working mothers.
- Encourage all disadvantaged women to rise above their circumstances in pursuit of education, financial independence
and self sufficiency.
- Provide quality healthcare to disadvantaged women and their children.
- Afford disadvantaged children and their families’ amenities such as new clothing, toiletries, school supplies and gifts
during the holidays so that they may experience a sense of pride and normalcy in their everyday lives.
